The Fountain Valley Historical Society staged its 41st annual Christmas in the Gazebo Dec. 10 at Heritage Park.
The popular family event featured plenty of music, a vendor’s village, food and a visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.
Local crafters and vendors set up shop, offering an array of seasonal items perfect for holiday gifts and décor, including wood crafted pens, pizza cutters, bottle stoppers and more. Other items sold included knit scarves and hats, jewelry and ceramics. Additionally, the Fountain Valley Garden Club offered a variety of plants and garden decorations.
A cookie decorating table occupied the children, and all attendees enjoyed holiday music performances by the Masuda Middle School band, led by “Mr. C” Rob Covacevich, and the Fountain Valley High School Brass Ensemble, under the direction of Jackson Lai and led by Arturo Huerta Castro.
The Fountain Valley Historical Society sold hot dogs, and local disc jockey Brian McGee provided lots of holiday favorites throughout the day.
Barbara Montz of the Fountain Valley Community Foundation read “The Night Before Christmas” to an audience of youngsters, and children lined up for an opportunity to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus in the iconic park gazebo.
“This wonderful event is a gift to the families in Fountain Valley from the Fountain Valley Historical Society for the past 40 years,” said Historical Society President Cheryl Brothers.
