Body

The 10th annual Community Service Day is set to take place on Saturday, April 20 in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach. The day-long event, sponsored by the Greater Huntington Beach Interfaith Council, brings together an array of volunteers, spanning all ages and interests, to embark on 40 impactful projects designed to enhance the local community.

Volunteers are invited to participate in a range of projects, from removing trash from the Huntington Beach Wetlands, to refurbishing Mile Square Park, to crafting caps for chemotherapy patients. Previous projects have included, pulling weeds, planting trees, painting buildings, and donating blood. The volunteer effort is coordinated by about 30 local nonprofit groups, businesses, residents, and city agencies.

All registered volunteers will receive a commemorative tote bag and wristband for free lunch. Projects commence at 9 a.m. and culminate at noon with a picnic at the Huntington Beach Central Park bandstand. To register to volunteer, go to www.communityserviceday.org or www.Justserve.org.
