From the battlefield to the football field, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Anthony Carter embodies service and dedication for our country and community.
Having served 14 years in the U.S.
Army as a 92A Automated Logistics Specialist, Staff Sgt. Carter has deployed around the world. He began his military career at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Fort Lee, Virginia. He then served with the 1-1 Attack Reconnaissance Battalion at Fort Riley, Kansas, before deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
He later joined the 4th Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany, eventually rotating to Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, and the Czech Republic for Operation Atlantic Resolve.
Staff Sgt. Carter relocated to Fort Carson, Colorado, with the 247th Composite Supply Company, supporting Operation Inherent Resolve in Syria and Saudi Arabia. His final deployment was with the 40th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, 11th Signal Brigade at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
Born in Long Beach and having trained and worked around the world, Staff Sgt. Carter now calls Huntington Beach home. He’s a proud father, husband, and a recruiter for the U.S. Army.
Extending his dedication beyond the military, Carter plays a key role in youth development for several organizations.
He serves as a football coach at Fountain Valley High School and a youth basketball coach at the Fountain Valley Sports Complex.
In addition, he volunteers at the Huntington Beach Union High School District, where he proctors AP tests, supervises extracurricular activities, and chaperons field trips.
