LETTUCE EDUCATE YOU ABOUT RABBIT ADOPTIONS

Body

In 1984, Caroline Charland rescued a rabbit from a bad situation. When she tried to find out how to properly care for a rabbit she learned that people simply put them in cages or hutches in their backyards.

Not liking the idea, she let her rabbit run around her apartment and noticed that it started using her cat’s litter box. She set out to change the way rabbits live by holding classes and educating the public about proper rabbit care.

Today, Charland is founder and president of Fountain Valley-based Bunny Bunch Rabbit Rescue, a nonprofit, no-kill rescue and education organization for rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas.

Bunny Bunch Rabbit Rescue receives calls all day long, every day about rabbits needing homes. Many of Bunny Bunch Rabbit Rescue’s rabbits are in foster homes, awaiting adoption.

All rabbits available for adoption have been spayed or neutered, litter box trained and vaccinated for the rabbit virus, RVHD2.

Bunny Bunch is open seven days a week, and adoptions are by appointment by going to www.bunnybunch. org.

Bunny Bunch Rabbit Rescue is at 10534 Bechler River Ave. The rescue center is also home to Bunny Bunch Boutique, a pet store offering everything you need for rabbits, chinchillas and guinea pigs, including hay, treats, chews, houses, fleece and more.
