Fountain Valley Boy Scout Troop 567 will turn 50 years old on Jan. 1, 2024. In recognition of the milestone, the troop will hold a combination 50th anniversary celebration and Court of Honor event from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at The Fount Church which is located at 18225 Bushard St.
The troop hopes to see current troop members, troop alumni and some special guests at the event. Light refreshments will be served.
Troop 567 currently has 80 members. Since its inception in 1974, the troop’s accomplishments include hosting Summer Camps at Emerald Bay and Camp Big Horn and numerous hikes. The troop has camped at Owl Canyon,
Calico, the Kern River, Newport Dunes, Crystal Cove and Joshua Tree, to name a few.
The scouts take part in monthly service projects and attend Camporee, Camperall and Scout O’Rama. Troop 567 boasts 103 Eagle Scouts to date and established a Girl Troop in 2019.
