The Fountain Valley Rotary Club will honor longtime volunteer John Etheridge at the eighth annual Ed Arnold Volunteer of the Year Awards event Sept. 21.
Etheridge is an active member of both the Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach Kiwanis Clubs. He also serves on the board of directors of Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and is a former board member of the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Etheridge is also an active supporter of the Fountain Valley High School Boosters, Fountain Valley Historical Society, Boys and Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley and the Fountain Valley Community Foundation.
This year’s gala event is set for 6 p.m. at the Center at Founders Village, 17967 Bushard St.
The evening will include dinner, a silent auction and the announcement of several scholarships that will be handed out to youth volunteers.
Previous recipients of the award include Alex A. Accetta, David Truong, Dave Osborn, Susan Saurastri, Cheryl Brothers, Connie Wadsley and Ed Arnold.
Since 1984, the Fountain Valley Rotary Club has supported the community by donating time and money to numerous charitable endeavors.
The Fountain Valley Rotary Club this past year has donated money to support Robyne’s Nest, the Fountain Valley Police Explorers, the Fountain Valley Schools Foundation and sponsored a $5,000 piece of equipment for the new Universally Accessible Playground along with many other charitable events.
