For 45 years, the Fountain Valley Woman’s Club has quietly but powerfully invested in the future of local Fountain Valley students. As the oldest nonprofit organization in Fountain Valley, the Club has awarded more than $149,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors, helping them pursue college degrees, trade school certifications and career dreams that might otherwise feel out of reach.
This spring, the Club once again invites the community to be part of that mission with its annual scholarship dinner and murder mystery play, “Murder in Apartment 103.” Equal parts fundraiser and festive night out, the event blends entertainment, community spirit and philanthropy into one memorable evening, with every dollar raised going directly to student scholarships.
Last year alone, the Fountain Valley Woman’s Club awarded 17 scholarships ranging from $500 to $4,000, totaling $18,500. Scholarship applications for the upcoming year will be available on the Club’s website in late March, continuing a tradition that has supported generations of Fountain Valley students.
Behind this success is a membership of more than 85 women who embody commitment, cooperation and service above self. Their spring fundraiser is the cornerstone of the Club’s scholarship program, supported by generous in-kind donations from Southern California businesses and nonprofits, as well as strong community attendance year after year.
A highlight of the evening is the murder mystery play, written and directed by longtime member Carol Ann Van Holt. Now in its eighth year, the annual production has become a beloved tradition. Van Holt begins crafting each script in the summer, weaving humor, intrigue and surprises that delight both the cast and the audience. Guests are encouraged to play along, laughing, guessing and debating as the mystery unfolds and everyone tries to determine — whodunit?
This year’s “Murder in Apartment 103” promises plenty of twists, laughs and interactive fun, performed by the Club’s own thespian members. The event takes place Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Center at Founders Village 17967 Bushard St., in Fountain Valley. Tickets are $65 per person and include dinner, basket opportunity prizes and access to a no-host bar. Every ticket purchased helps open doors for local students and strengthens the community.
The Fountain Valley Woman’s Club warmly invites residents to join them for this not-to-be-missed night of mystery, laughter and meaningful impact — because when the community comes together, scholarships happen.
