The Greater Huntington Beach Interfaith Council will host the 19th annual Blessing of the Waves at Pier Plaza on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m marking the close of another surf season with an evening of music, faith, and reflection to celebrate a shared love for the ocean.

FVHS DANCE TEAM MAKES HISTORY AT WCE NATIONALS

The Fountain Valley High School Dance Team made program history this season at the West Coast Elite (WCE) Nationals competition, earning 1st place in Large Hip Hop and achieving the second-highest overall scoring routine out of 170 in the Silver category.

AUTHOR TALK WITH NAOMI HIRAHARA

Meet author Naomi Hirahara as she discusses her latest mystery novel, Crown City, on Saturday, March 28, from 2 to 3 p.m. Set in Pasadena in 1903, the story follows two young Japanese American men investigating an art theft that leads to a darker discovery. A book sale and signing will follow.

Music lovers of all ages are invited to Fountain Valley Library for a live performance by bagpiper John McLean Allan as part of OC Public Libraries’ Music Appreciation Series. The program is funded in part through a grant from the California Department of Aging.
