Fountain Valley Regional Hospital’s Adrienne Feilden was recently awarded the Tenet Healthcare Hall of Fame Award for her role as a child life therapist, and for being the ultimate patient advocate for pediatric and pediatric ICU patients and their families.
Hospital officials said Feilden has a unique ability to create meaningful bonds with her patients and is a “beacon of light” for families experiencing profound crisis. The award is Tenet’s highest honor for employees.
Feilden collaborates with local schools to make sure that patients can keep up with their schoolwork. She has built an inventory of toys and therapeutic medical education activities for the pediatric department playroom and regularly engages the greater Fountain Valley community to support the hospital through donations and events.
She also developed and coordinates the hospital’s annual Halloween pediatric parade, holiday toy drives and numerous birthday events and activities throughout the year.
“I am one of those lucky people who loves coming to work every day,” Feilden said. “I have the honor of witnessing the great resilience of children daily. I have the opportunity to educate, support and enhance a child’s coping with illness and hospitalization.”
