There were a lot of poker faces at the Center at Founders Village Senior and Community Center Nov. 4.
The Fountain Valley Community Foundation hosted its popular Texas Hold ‘Em Charity Poker Tournament at the senior center and raised about $14,000.
Proceeds will support the new Universally Accessible Playground being built in the Fountain Valley Sports Park.
Frank Garibay won the tournament followed by Tina Brenton (second place), David Le (third), Andrew Wilson (fourth), Ron Garcia (fifth), Milton Nakano (sixth), Louis Hungate (seventh) and Evan Jorgensen (eighth).
Foundation member and City Council member Glenn Grandis hosted the event for the 20th year.
The tournaments cumulatively have raised $800,000 to support local nonprofits.
This year’s tournament sponsors were Hyundai, the Huntington Beach Host Lions Club, All-in Productions Casino Rentals, Kingston Technology, Lamppost Pizza, Pacific Premier Bank and Seashore Pest Control.
