FVPD FACILITIES IMPROVEMENT
Construction on the Fountain Valley Police Department locker, restroom, and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) improvement project began in August 2023. The project has a budget of $4.5 million, and it is anticipated to be completed in January 2025.
This project will bring much-needed modernization and equity/diversity among staff members. The locker rooms and restrooms will be upgraded to be consistent with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance and they will provide adequate space for the current size of personal protective gear and equipment including relocating and modernizing the forensic lab with stateof- the-art equipment and HVAC system.
The project will also provide exterior improvements to the building's entrance including an ADA compliant pedestrian ramp, stairway and landing.
We are proud to announce that the work on the stairway and ramp entrance area is now complete. Work is currently underway in the fitness room and the CSI room including HVAC, the electrical system, plumbing, framing and drywall.
The temporary restroom/shower/ locker facilities are expected to be operational by the end of December 2023. Temporary facilities have accommodated police operations during construction.
