► Charity poker tournament is April 6
The Fountain Valley Community Foundation will hold its spring charity poker tournament on Saturday, April 6 at the Center at Founders Village.
“Deal a Helping Hand” is the theme of the tournament, with proceeds going toward the Foundation’s Community Grants Program, which supports local non-profits and community organizations such as youth sports, music and the arts, seniors, the Boys and Girls Club, the veterans banner program, emergency funding and more.
Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and the first hand is dealt at 6 p.m. Online registration costs is $25 and closes at noon on April 6. Walk-up registration is $30 at the door starting at 5 p.m. Rebuys are available up until 8 p.m.

►FV Woman’s Club Luncheon is April 9
The Fountain Valley Woman's Club will hold its next luncheon meeting at 11 a.m. April 9 at the Mile Square Golf Course banquet room. The club raises money for various causes.

►AL’s ‘Sip & Shop’ Fundraiser is April 20
The Assistance League of Huntington Beach will hold its “Treasures Sip & Shop” fundraiser from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at the league’s Thrift Shop and Chapter Office, 8071 Slater Ave., in Huntington Beach.
The League was chartered in 1950 and is one of 120 chapters of the National Assistance League. The League currently has more than 350 volunteers who dedicated more than 70,000 service hours last year.
The “Sip & Shop” event will include food, drink, entertainment and shopping for silent auction baskets, jewelry, designer purses, crystal and home decor items. Valet parking is included in the cost.
Cocktail attire is suggested.

►FVHS Dance Team Spring Show is April 28
The Fountain Valley High School Dance Team will present its annual Spring Show from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, April 28 in the FVHS gymnasium.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. Various prizes will be raffled off during the show.
