► City’s Concerts in the Park lineup announced
The Fountain Valley Sports Park will once again be rocking in July when the city’s Recreation and Community Services Department presents its annual Concerts in the Park series on Thursdays, July 11, July 18 and July 25.
This year’s lineup features The Dreamboats on July 11, Tijuana Dogs on July 18 and DSB on July 25.
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy evenings of great music.
Concerts in the Park are set for 6-8 p.m. and feature non-profit food booths, a drink garden and more. The Sports Park is at 16400 Brookhurst St. For more information, call (714) 8398611.
►Movies in the Park set for August
Fountain Valley will hold its Summer 2024 Movies in the Park in August at the Fountain Valley Sports Park.
This year’s movie offerings are Elemental on Aug. 6 and Toy Story 4 on Aug. 23. Movies are presented on the lawn at the Fountain Valley Sports Park.
Activities begin at 6 p.m. and the movies start at dusk. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy games, popcorn, and more. Children dressed in costume can enter a costume contest for a chance to win a bike.
Also, the city will celebrate National Night Out on Aug. 6 during the Movie in the Park festivities. National Night Out is an opportunity for residents to engage with the Fountain Valley Fire Department and other city emergency services.

► Pins for Kids is Aug. 17
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley and the Fountain Valley Kiwanis Club are teaming up to present their 16th annual Pins for Kids Bowling Tournament.
This year’s tournament is set for 5:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at Fountain Bowl.
In addition to the traditional bowling tournament, an online auction to help raise funds at the event is also scheduled.
Those participating help thousands of children have access to the Boys & Girls Club’s award-winning programs, like after school care, fullday programs during the summer, sports leagues, and more.
And, through the Kiwanis Club, you will be supporting charity projects throughout the community, like Robyne’s Nest, Therapeutic Riding Center of Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, Orangewood Children’s Home, and Kiwanis Club’s own projects like giving college scholarships, working with youth at local high schools, providing clothing essentials for disadvantaged children.
