Ageneral information meeting for all interested young women for the upcoming Miss Fountain Valley Scholarship Competition will be held at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 26 at Coastal Community Fellowship, 10460 Slater Ave. Practice and orientation begin Nov. 9.
The Miss Fountain Valley com-petition is open to young women, ages 18-27, who live, work, or go to school in Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa and Westminster, or who attend UC Irvine, Concordia University or Cal State Long Beach.
This year’s competition includes a new teen category for local high school-aged women, 14-18.
These prestigious titles are a preliminary step toward the Miss America title. Candidates will compete in talent, interview, health and fitness, on-stage question and evening gown.
