On September, 14th, the Fountain Valley Rotary Club, in partnership with the Surf City Rotary of Huntington Beach Club and Rise Against Hunger, put on a food packing event. More than 75 volunteers from both Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley came together at the Boys and girls Club to pack 10,142 meals that will be sent to areas of the world where people are hungry.
These packets contain rice, soy protein, dried vegetables, and vitamin packets. All that needs to be done is add the contents of these packets to boiling water to create a nutritious meal. At the end of the event, volunteers were treated to a BBQ lunch generously provided by the Fountain Valley Kiwanis Club.
