50 YEARS OF SERVICE

Body

Longtime resident Regina Huebner is celebrating 50 years of community service, touching lives from classrooms to hospitals to local service organizations.

Regina began volunteering as a Candy Striper at Richmond Heights General Hospital in Ohio. She then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

While in college, she met Rex Huebner and they have been married for 46 years.

The Huebners moved to Fountain Valley in 1985. Their three children, products of Fountain Valley schools, grew up seeing Regina's dedication to community service.

She spearheaded the “Meet the Masters” art program at Cox Elemen-tary School, a monthly art program designed for all grade levels to learn about historical masters of art. In 1995 she received an “Honorary Life Award” from Cox for her service.

After Regina retired from a 40-year nursing career at Hoag Hospital in 2018, she continued to volunteer. She supported a women's recovery home in Costa Mesa and took prominent roles in the Fountain Valley Woman’s Club and the Fountain Valley Schools Foundation.

Her passion for volunteering is a family affair. Her children Jason, Rudy and Monica, all volunteer and demonstrate the family's commitment to giving back. Rex Huebner, too, contributes behind the scenes.

Regina encourages neighbors to join in making a difference.
