JOIN CITY OF HOPE ORANGE COUNTY IN WALKING TO END CANCER

Body

Some walk for loved ones who have battled cancer, some walk in recognition of their own journey, and others walk with the hope that, one day, no one will receive a cancer diagnosis.

All share a commitment to helping City of Hope end cancer by participating in Walk for Hope on Sunday, Sept. 8, at the City of Hope Orange County campus, 1000 FivePoint, Irvine. The Orange County walk is one of five Walks for Hope held across City of Hope’s national system.

“Walk for Hope offers an opportunity for anyone who calls cancer a part of their story to take tangible steps toward the day when cancer is gone,” said Annette Walker, president, City of Hope Orange County.

“At City of Hope, we’re turning hope into a reality — please join me in walking in hope to one day end cancer for all.”

With a 2K or 5K route available, participants are encouraged to raise funds. Although there are no registration fees, raising at least $150 qualifies participants as Heroes for Hope, who will receive the official 2024 Walk for Hope T-shirt.

Walk for Hope directly supports City of Hope in three important ways:

• Cancer Breakthroughs: Donations help expedite the journey from innovative research to groundbreaking treatments.

• Individualized Cancer Care: Funds raised support a wide array of services, including support groups, integrative therapies, educational classes, and workshops, all aimed at providing personalized and compassionate care.

• Health Equity: Advocacy for increased access to quality care ensures that everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, has the opportunity to fight and survive cancer.

Physicians, staff members, researchers, current and former patients, caregivers, and friends and neighbors will all participate in this special day. It is an opportunity to put Hope First and make significant strides toward a future that is cancer-free.
