Fountain Valley School District students showcased their artwork at the 21st Annual District Art Show April 6 at the district offices.

More than 500 pieces of artwork were on display in exhibits from students in the district’s seven elementary schools and three middle schools.

The artwork ranged from two-dimensional paintings and drawings to three-dimensional models and collages. Various pieces were awarded as best of show, and students received certificates of excellence and recognition.

The winners of a student jewelry designing contest were also announced during the event.

The show included performances from students in the choir programs at Masuda, Talbert and Fulton middle schools. Group performances were accompanied with various student soloist performances.

Additionally, in the parking lot, students and families ventured through various interactive art stations hosted by staff from each of the 10 schools. The stations included activities such as decorating necklaces, bookmarks, keychains and swag bags.

Other activities included several food trucks and an eating area, as well as two photo booths with an assortment of props.

“The arts are very important, and we all shine in different ways,” said FVSD Superintendent Dr. Katherine Stopp. “If you haven’t been to the art show, you should come. It’s a celebration of everything that’s great about Fountain Valley.”
