FOUNTAIN VALLEY SCHOOLS FOUNDATION

Body

The Fountain Valley Schools Foundation strengthens public schools with resources that expand opportunity for every student. As the second-oldest nonprofit in the city of Fountain Valley, the foundation takes pride in a long record of showing up for students and teachers, with a clear focus on what matters most: student success.

Equity guides how we give. The foundation supports all 10 schools in the Fountain Valley School District, including seven elementary schools and three middle schools, ensuring every campus benefits.

Over the past three school years, the Foundation has returned funding directly to school sites in a consistent, districtwide way: $30,000 in 2023-24, $30,000 in 2024-25, and $50,000 in 2025-26, totaling $110,000 in site allocations alone. Beyond these allocations, the foundation also responds to additional needs and program opportunities throughout the year, helping schools sustain enrichment and deliver experiences that students remember.

One area of impact we are especially proud of is music. Arts education builds confidence, discipline, teamwork, and joy, and it deserves continued support. After-school music funding has been a steady commitment: $7,500 in 2023-24, $8,500 in 2024-25, and $6,000 in 2025-26. These dollars help students keep learning beyond the bell through instruments, instruction, and performance experiences that turn curiosity into skill and skill into confidence.

None of this happens without community support. We are deeply grateful to the major donors and partners who have stood with local schools over the years, including SchoolsFirst, Kingston Technology, Lily Campbell, and Susan Saurastri, as well as the many businesses, families, and individuals who continue to invest in public education.

Those who care about Fountain Valley are invited to join that circle of support. Whether through monthly giving, event sponsorships or one-time contributions, every donation helps ensure students across all 10 campuses have access to enrichment that strengthens academics and builds well-rounded learners.

Supporting schools is also an investment in our community. When families consider buying a home, they look closely at the quality of the school district. Strong schools help make Fountain Valley a place people want to live, and there is a real connection between great schools and strong home values.

Much of the foundation’s work is fueled by community-driven fundraising, including its largest annual event, the Marc Ecker Golf Classic, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine. The day includes golf, contests and an awards dinner. Every sponsorship, foursome and tee sign directly supports programs and site needs across the district.

Looking ahead, under the leadership of current Foundation President David Truong, we are expanding our reach to new donors and inviting more local corporations to step up. Many of their employees are FVSD parents today, and many others are proud FVSD alumni.

Those interested in helping are encouraged to get involved. Visit fvschools.org to learn more, make a donation, sponsor the Marc Ecker Golf Classic or sign up for Give 10 for Kids — a simple monthly program that creates steady, reliable support for students and schools.
