Body It’s Magazine Day in... Huntington Beach resident and frequent FV Living contributor Bev Mast recently flew to Vancouver, British Columbia and boy are her arms tired! The combination of parks, totem poles and wonderful food makes Vancouver one of Bev’s favorite destinations.

CLEANING THE HARBOR, ONE PADDLE AT A TIME

Body Fountain Valley resident Sue Maghy has spent the past three and a half years kayaking Huntington Harbor every week—not just for exercise and fresh air, but to pick up trash. By her estimate, she’s pulled more than 3,000 pounds of garbage from the waterway.

Body The Fountain Valley Historical Society is looking for donations of artificial Christmas trees for this year’s Christmas in the Gazebo, set for Saturday, Dec. 13.

Body William and Mary Newland were drawn to the opportunities Southern California offered in the late 1800’s. So, they packed up their 10 children and left Illinois. Fewer than 20,000 people lived in all of Orange County when they arrived.

Body Three local service clubs have joined forces to make a difference. The Surf City Rotary Club of Huntington Beach, the Fountain Valley Rotary Club and the Fountain Valley Kiwanis Club have partnered with Rise Against Hunger to help feed starving people in developing countries.
